Despana In SoHo, New York City And Cheesecake Recipe And Takeout, Delivery Menu

Despaña gives takeout a Spanish accent

Soho's Despaña is without a doubt the city's best resource for anyone trying to cook the best of Spain at home. What we didn't realize, though, is how perfect it is for those nights when cooking isn't an option.

The shop's café, which recently started delivery service, satisfies with a takeout menu far beyond its awesome bocadillos (once the only thing available). Rich wedges of tortillas, fried balls of bacalao and cool gazpacho are satisfying, but it's the cheesecake–made with the slightly sour Afuega'l Pitu, a cow's-milk cheese sold at the shop–that truly takes the torta.

Lucky for us, Despaña shared its recipe (click here to download it), but if you're sticking with prepared foods only, grab a slice or preorder a whole cake for $45.

Even better, now through July 5, mention Tasting Table and get a 10 percent discount on all non-prepared foods.
