He wrote in Chicago for 13 years, during which time he clocked bylines for brands like Zagat. Upon leaving Chicago in 2018 to travel full-time in an RV, he blended food writing with travel writing, showcasing restaurants in smaller markets, national parks, Disney World, and beyond. His bylines have appeared in Travel + Leisure, Thrillist, InsideHook, Conde Nast Traveler, AFAR, Plate Magazine, Eater, and numerous others.
Education
Matt received an associate's degree in culinary arts from Robert Morris University in Chicago, which inspired him to start writing about food in addition to cooking it.
