Rao's Homemade Is Debuting A New Line Of Sauces And Soups

Rao's Homemade sauce isn't just Ina Garten's favorite; it also topped our list when we ranked our favorite pasta sauces. Last year, Rao's Homemade celebrated everything saucy with a pop-up event in New York, and this year will see a repeat engagement for The Saucery, hosted in Chicago on Friday, June 9 (12 p.m. to 7 p.m.), Saturday, June 10 (1 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Sunday, June 11 (1 p.m. to 7 p.m.) CT. While there will be fun on-site events for fans, the real news is the debut of five new products that you'll be able to find in stores.

According to a press release sent to Tasting Table, Rao's Homemade is launching three new sauces, along with two new soups, all with the slow-simmered flavors we've come to expect: Caramelized Onion, Vodka Arrabbiata, Pizza Arrabbiata, Italian-Style Lentil Soup, and Butternut Squash Soup. You can start looking for the new sauces in national retailers this month, and the soups should begin arriving in stores in July.

What flavors are featured in the new sauces and soups?

Caramelized Onion features the slow-cooked sweetness from onions, mingling with Italian tomatoes in a sauce suitable for a range of dishes. The spicy Vodka Arrabbiata sauce features more Italian tomatoes, Parmigiano Reggiano and Pecorino Romano cheeses, a swash of vodka, and crushed red pepper. Both pasta sauces come in 24-ounce jars and will retail for $8.99 apiece. The last one, Pizza Arrabbiata, is full of Italian and cherry tomatoes, along with a kick of crushed red pepper and will be sold in a 12.3-ounce jar for $4.99.

Rao's Homemade Italian-Style Lentil Soup has a rich chicken broth base and is filled with sweet sautéed veggies, classic Italian spices, and hints of roasted red pepper, while the Butternut Squash soup is a smooth fusion of chicken broth and sweet, nutty squash, enriched with aromatic spices. Both soups will be packaged in 16-ounce jars and will retail for $5.89. So if you can't make the trek to Chicago to visit The Saucery, you can look forward to enjoying these delicious new products at home.
